Rules & Regulations

Artwork Authenticity & Integrity:

• While references are allowed, exact replication of another person’s artwork is considered plagiarism and will lead to disqualification.

• Participants must ensure that their artwork is entirely their own original creation. It should not be copied or heavily referenced from existing artworks, photographs, or other sources. Any form of plagiarism will result in automatic disqualification. AI-generated art references are acceptable, but participants must understand the difference between referencing and committing plagiarism.

Art Referencing: References are tools that all artists use as guide or inspiration. They help artists learn perspective, structure and form. Without references, one might not know what a shark looks like and what features it has. However, while using references, the art style must be your own and should not involve copying or tracing an existing style and not bigger than A4 size.

Copying/Tracing/Heavy Referencing: Imitating or drawing too similarly to an original artwork – including composition, elements, or style, constitutes plagiarism. Reproducing any part of an existing artwork (such as style, pose, or composition) by drawing exactly what you see, even if flipped or rotated, is considered plagiarism. When a referenced image results in a nearly identical replica, such as in fan art, it may also be subject to disqualification.

All entries will be reviewed of adherence to these rules. Artworks violating these rules will be disqualified.

Artwork Duplication or Sale: The organiser does not have the right to duplicate or sell participants’ artworks for profit.

Things to Bring by Participant

• Original Kartu Tanda Penduduk (KTP) / Passport (must match the one used for registration).

• Drawing and painting materials as per the accepted mediums list.

• Loose Art References: While we allow participants to bring in their art references during the competition, however, plagiarism or copying or tracing of other’s artwork is strictly prohibited. Plagiarism is presenting a work or idea from another source as your own. Artwork with more than 50% similarity to any published artworks in terms of its composition, is considered as art plagiarism and will be disqualified.

Creativity and Originality: The uniqueness of the concept and the originality of the artwork.

Theme Focus: How well the artwork aligns with the competition’s theme.
